My Approach
Through a humanistic lens of unconditional positive regard, I work with adolescents and adults navigating stressful life experiences and obstacles to personal growth. In addition to this broader support, I provide evidence-based treatment for anxiety-related conditions, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and insomnia. My work focuses on helping clients meet challenges with greater self-awareness, flexibility, and resilience.
My style is warm and collaborative, grounded in curiosity and respect for each client’s strengths, values, and lived experience. With over 25 years of experience teaching movement-based practices and outdoor sports in rural mountain communities, I bring a whole-person perspective to therapy, combining practical strategies and steady support to help clients feel more confident navigating life’s challenges. I aim to foster an inclusive and accepting environment shaped by a genuine appreciation for each person’s unique identity and background.
Education, Training, & Professional Memberships
I hold a Master of Social Work from Boston University, with a specialization in clinical mental health. My training includes advanced coursework in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); psychodynamic therapy; exposure and response prevention (ERP)—the gold-standard treatment for OCD; acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT); emotionally-focused therapy (EFT); Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma-related conditions; and CBT for insomnia (CBT-I) through the University of Pennsylvania.
I am an active member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). As a lifelong learner committed to quality client care, I engage in continuing education, peer consultation, and mentor supervision weekly.
